Join Wes Durow, Vice President Enterprise Global Marketing and Channel Strategy, Nortel, for a presentation on the direction and focus of Nortel's Enterprise business for 2009. Wes will discuss the increasing importance of the Enterprise customer and portfolio to Nortel's future as well as the priorities Nortel will pursue in the coming year. In addition, Wes will discuss Unified Communications and the value businesses can capture by seamlessly integrating communications into existing applications -- connecting people more closely with one another and with information. Time will be reserved for a question and answer session with Wes as well.
Wes holds overall marketing and channel strategy responsibility for the Enterprise Solutions business at Nortel. As a member of the Enterprise Solutions executive leadership team, Wes is engaged in all facets related to the strategy, implementation and performance specific to Nortel’s ability to attract, retain and cultivate customers ranging from SMBs through to FORTUNE 500 enterprises. He most recently served as Nortel’s Vice President of Global Brand Communications with holistic responsibility for marketing communications, advertising, branding and web communications across the company. Wes has been with Nortel for eleven years and has also held vertical marketing and channel marketing leadership roles during his tenure. He has a proven track record in developing and delivering results-oriented integrated marketing programs for leading global companies across multiple industries.
Prior to joining Nortel, Wes served as Officer/Account Supervisor at TM Advertising (formerly Temerlin McLain/Bozell) where his clients included American Airlines, Pace Picante Sauce, Verizon (formerly GTE), Bank of America (formerly NationsBank), Dial Corporation, The Komen Foundation/Race for the Cure and Greyhound Bus Lines. He also worked at DDB Needham Advertising/PGC on the ConAgra Foods account.
Wes is a frequent speaker and writer on marketing as vehicle to drive company transformation, including programs led by the Institute for International Research, Sales & Marketing Executives International, and Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He has also served as a speaker and thesis advisor at the University of North Carolina. Wes hold’s a bachelor's degree in Marketing and Economics from the University of Northern Iowa and a master's degree in Advertising from Northwestern University.

With over 24 years experience, Mark has worked in almost every segment of the telecommunications industry; the last 16 years dedicated to the Nortel voice product portfolio. With years in the field as a technician, as well as experience building and managing several of the world's largest Nortel private voice networks, Mark has a unique view of the telecommunications industry from various perspectives, including extensive knowledge of both TDM and VoIP environments. He was also the inaugural recipient of the “INNUA Partnership Award” at Global Connect in 2008.
In his current position as Product Line Manager for Emergency Services, Mark ensures the roadmap and strategy of Nortel’s E9-1-1 solutions meet the requirements of the field with new product development and direction in both the Enterprise and Public Safety sectors. He is also a popular speaker at many international industry and user group events, and has been recognized for his monthly Podcasts and YouTube video educational series.
In addition to this role, Mark represents Nortel as an active member in several Public Safety and E911 organizations such as NENA, APCO, and the NIST SAFECOM technical workgroups developing standards for the NextGen E911 solution. Mark is a founding member of the NENA Private Sector Government Affairs Advisory Group, and acts as the current Chairperson for the NENA Multi-Line Telephone System (MLTS) Technical Subcommittee. Mark has had direct input to the current NENA model legislation that will affect E911 regulations in the enterprise across the United States.
In 2008, Mark joined EENA, the European Emergency Number Association, and is a founding member of the EU 112 Foundation promoting emergency services across European member States.
